Every year, agitators and mixing plants of various industries still generate high losses due to disruptions in the production process. In most cases, the shaft seals are responsible: at the interface between atmosphere and product, they have always been the weak point in the agitating process.
Could we not make agitating processes safer by removing any form of barrier media from the sealing? This was the question asked by the engineers at interseal, a Wiesbaden-based supplier of innovative products for sealing technology. And they have just taken on the challenge: with the dry9000®, interseal has developed a technically and economically sophisticated shaft seal that runs dry and promises 100% density. In this way, any contamination of the product is prevented. This was made possible by the efficiency and many years of experience of Sistro in precision parts construction.
WE KEEP THINGS TIGHT. WITH INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND EFFICIENT TEST RUNS.
In close collaboration with the German subsidiary, we had the challenge of further developing the assembly of this innovative seal. The task placed the highest demands on material, tools and processing strategy. In addition, full traceability of the individual components up to the origin of raw materials and the logging of particularly functionally critical components had to be ensured. With the assembly for the now patented dry9000® by interseal, we are also contributing to the greatly increased safety of agitating and mixing processes used in the pharmaceutical and food industry – such as in the manufacture of medicines.
